Details: this museum is a unique museum, it has a very modern building and was built by Daniel Libeskind, the museum shows war exhibitions covering from the 1900 to the present day

Details: this museum is a part of the university of Manchester, and holds one of the largest collections of ancient Egypt within England

Details: there are three areas to this gallery, they are the historic art section, which is in the old part of the gallery, and then there is a new building which holds the modern art collection, and the third section is the top floor where they hold the exhibitions as well as having an area for children to play with art.

Name: Manchester Opera House
Details: The opera house was built in 1912 and has gone through several name changes and several refurbishments, it also survived world war 2, it was also used a cinema for some time until 2003, where it was turned back in to a theatre house. The palace theatre and the opera house are run by the same company and all tickets can be bought from the box office which is located next door to the Manchester palace theatre.

Name: Manchester Palace Theatre
Details: The palace theatre was built in 1891 and could hold up to 3,675 seats until 1913 when the interior was changed and the seating reduced to 2,600, it then closed in 1970 and went under another renovation and opened again in1981 and has stayed open ever since. The palace is the bigger of the three theatres in Manchester, The Palace Theatre and the Opera House are run by the same company and all tickets can be bought from the box office which is located next door to the Manchester Palace Theatre.

There are several things to do within media city and around the area. You can do the heritage trail around the quays, you can go to one of the oldest buildings in Salford or you can have lunch in a park or just go shopping in the outlet.

Name: Ordsall Hall
Details: Ordsall Hall is one of the oldest and surviving buildings in Salford and is just down the road from media city, the hall dates back to the 15th century; it is also thought to be the house where Guy Fawkes came up with the idea of the plot.
At the moment the hall is under construction and is closed, but is planed to be open by Easter 2011
When the building is open there are activities that take place, which range from dressing up and watching plays to ghost watching.
